Have any of you tried colon cleanses?
If so, which are the most effective?
Is it bad to upset my colon when it's already not in the best shape?

What about a Candida cleanse?
I think these are mostly just a heavy round of probiotics.

Do they help?

I'd avoid colon cleanses - particularly if you're in a flare. These often contain ingredients that can really irritate your GI tract. And if you've had a scope recently, you've already been thoroughly "cleansed."

There are several different natural anti-candida treatments. You may have to experiment and see which is most gentle and works best for you personally. I use Jini Patel Thompson's Wild Oregano Oil protocol with WOO (a natural antifungal, antiviral, antimicrobial substance) and high dose Natren probiotics combined.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999.

Maintenance dose sulfasalazine. Probiotics, l-glutamine, vitamin D and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice. Oregano oil antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal. Mostly grain-free and dairy-free diet. Long-term remission with only minor blips.

Thanks. I am going to try a candida cleanse. I figured the colon cleanse might not be the best idea.
