Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed early in January and I've been lurking for a couple months, trying to figure out what it means to have this disease. I have learned a lot quickly by reading posts.

I have been off pred for about a month. I thought I was good to go, but now I am seeing symptoms returning---loud noises, D or constipation, lots of gas. The thing that concerns me is that it seems that movement has slowed way down in the colon. Is there a chance that my body is readjusting to being of pred or am I looking at needing more meds?

I'm still relatively new I guess (2 years with UC) but I have never been able to go more than 3-4 months without needing to go back on prednisone. And if I taper too quickly, I have to go right back on it.

Haven't tried rectal meds yet. I see the doctor Monday. My symptoms seem to be worsening. No blood yet. I'm so discouraged! I was feeling so hopeful after making so much progress. Before taking pred I was so ill that I would sit on the couch and stare.

You should definitely request rectal meds from your doctor when you see him. Either Rowasa/Solafolk enemas or at the very least Canasa suppositories. With your symptoms these should do the trick.
