Be very careful ...I had a sore eye which got very red and blurry ...I left it for a few days and woke up one morning and I could see properly, apparently its common for ulcerative colitis sufferers (especially those with the HLA-B27 gene) to get Iritis...I could have gone blind....i was told to go to hospital immediately and told that if it happened again not to bother with the local GP ..I am to go to the hospital immediately....Its not something to just leave in hope it will get better on its own

It sounds like your eyes are very dry, have you tried using some tears?
I don't think it's the Asacol, but you may be generally dehydrated. Drink lots of water, see if it improves!
Hopefully it is something that simple.

I get that with my eyes a lot. It's funny - for me it's just the opposite - when that happens I see better with my contacts than with my glasses. There is something called giant pappillary conjunctivitis which is very common with contact lens wearers. One of the symptoms that I experience is blurry vision because with this you can have a layer of mucus over the eye that causes blurred vision (kind of like being allergic to your contacts). I went to the eye doctor and he gave me Patanol/Pataday - a drop to t put in the eyes and it cleared it up.

I was having blurry vision ince the beginning of February. I hadn't had my eyes checked since I was starting school so I got them checked out.. I wasn't sure if it was because I was going to need glasses or from Colitis. Turns out my eyes are more than perfect and my blurry vision could be caused by headaches. I asked the optometrist about Colitis having anything to do with eye trouble. He said that Colitis can cause inflammation of the eye but if that was the case then my eye would be very red and incredibly sore. He described the eye pain as having a needle jammed in your eye. I have never had that, thank goodness, just the blurry vision.
