Is Acetaminophin OK to take with Pred. Currently on 40 mg. Or should I be taking something else. I need something for the abdominal pain. I will be on Asacol next week also, will that help with pain and the amount of bowel movements?

Yes Tylonel is fine - in fact that is the recommended pain reliever for Uc'ers. You can also try using heating pads to help with the abdominal pain.

Yes, Tylenol is okay to take, and yes, Asacol should help with your pain and reducing bowel movements. It got rid of my pain and I was having the most severe, debilitating pain of my life. I hope it works as well for you!

A hot bath also helps!  I get the tub as hot as I can stand it and pull my legs up to my chest.  I also agree w/ others the heating pad is my best friend!

Ditto! I am laying on my heating pad right now! I took two or three hot showers yesterday and just sat in the tub part and let the hot water fall on me. I consider my showers heaven right now. I also take Tylenol which helps.I am braving work today to I am going to go buy those pads for back and stomach pain and put them on my tummy and back so that I can get through the day.

If the pain is due to trapped gas and you can't get it out try Phazyme, it's a great anti gas and the liqui caps have no ingredients to bother our sensitive systems.
