FYI - I have been 100% with remicaid for the last 2 years.  The dosage was 5mg per 1kg body weight and I went every 8 weeks.  All of a sudden it stopped working.  So...my options are to up the remicaid to 10mg/1kg or try humira.  I decided to go with the higher remicaid still every 8 weeks.  I can't get it for another 4 weeks so I am trying to hang in there with cortememas nightly.  I will keep people updated on this because I know this higher dosage is not that common apparently.  But has anybody had experience with this?

Thanks,
Steve - I still need to update my profile

I'm at the higher dose also- pretty much same scenario as you- it worked great for a while at the lower dose, every 8 weeks. Then just quit- so we upped it & shortened the dosing intervals to every 6 weeks. Worked good again! I have had to go every 6 weeks for about 8 months now, but am able to extend it to every 7 weeks. I have an infusion this Wednesday, & it'll be at 7 weeks, & I'm actually doing pretty well considering the longer dosing interval. I also see my GI this thursday, & I don't think we'll be making any med changes- things seem to be working pretty good for me right now, so I'm leery of changing anything. I don't think it's all that uncommon to be on the higher 10mgs/kg dose- quite a few people on here are at that dose, & also on a more frequent 6 week dosing schedule, both on the high dose & the standard one. Good luck! I think the big drawback is that most docs don't want to keep you at that dose for very long, maybe a year or so before they try to taper down.
