I have been on humira for just over 8 weeks.
Last week, it was working okay, but I wasnt satisfied.  I happened to have an appt with my GI that had been scheduled to see how I was doing on the humira.  I told him that the Bm were still pretty frequent, watery, urgent, etc.  but that it was better than december.
He suggested I try humira every week and see how that goes.
I also started metamucil 2 weeks ago and it seemed to be adding form to the stool, but at the appt, it had not made a huge difference.
now a week after my appt, and before I have increased the frequency of humira, I am having 1 BM per day (for 4 days in a row) and it is formed.  I haven't been this well in 5 yrs.  I am so excited.  I said cross your fingers, because it has only been 4 days... but this is amazing.
I think it is due to the addition of the metamucil every day or maybe it just took one more week for the humira to work to its potential.
Anyway, should I just stay the way I am, or should I increase the humira as my doctor had suggested?
I cant make another appt -- it takes forever to get an appt with him.  I have a colonoscopy scheduled in April and I could just ask him then -- I am thinking I will wait one more week before I increase the frequency of the humira
any thoughts?
and sorry if that was long or confusing.

If you think it's the Metamucil that has bulked up your stool then I would hold out upping the Humira. Because if your stool starts to get soft/mushy again then you always have that option of increasing in the future right?

I'm glad that you're feeling better! *knocking on wood, crossing the fingers, hanging a horseshoe etc etc for you!*

curious how long you were on Remicade before you stopped.  Remicade only worked for a few months with me.  I'm looking into Humira or a clinical trial now
