I know you're waiting for your surgery and trying to get the UC under control so you can go ahead with it. I just wanted to let you know, I just saw the orthopedist and I'm going to be getting my new knee in the next few months, as soon as they can get me on the schedule. I've been gimping on this knee for too many years, so I'm really glad!

Hope you have good news soon, too!

Thank you Judy!  Good luck to you also!

My appointment is tomorrow with the knee surgeon.  I have known him for 10 years and been trying to have the surgery done for 3.  First, I had a panic attack and could not go through with it.  Next year (winters are bad here so can't choose winter) my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer and I needed to stay with him through treatments.  Last June I starting the rectal bleeding 3 days before surgery so you know what happened there.  My two docs - surgeon and gastro work closely together and their offices are in a small hospital where I will have the surgery.  The ortho doc has been there over 20 years and done a LOT of knee replacements.  I just want to get on with this and walking somewhat normal again.  I have to have both knees done but he will only do one and then other 3 months after!  I will keep writing what is going on.  So far the prednisone has his approval but he does not know about the 6MP.  You know I can't move fast to the bathroom now but certainly could not hurry right after knee surgery.

I know I'm not looking forward to what using a walker is going to do to my trigger fingers. Sometimes I don't know which is worse to have: a bad colon or bad bones and tendons!

Judy regarding your trigger fingers - my husband has those too.  He gets cortisone shots in them and that helps him a lot!  Hope yours aren't too bad - that is really painful!  I have no problems with hands - just feet and knees. ElaineNY

Mine developed when I was using crutches after a broken leg, and then again when I was rehabbing from my first shoulder surgery. They've been injected twice, and are doing okay still. My bones, tendons and ligaments are not happy body parts. In fact, I think joint pain was my first UC sympton way before any GI symptoms.
