I've been having too much stress at work, and have been feeling like I'm doing under par work due to the stress, and feeling really insecure. Each time seems like a bigger issue. I got very stressed this week, and now I'm going to the bathroom at odd times, but no blood, some diarreha though. I really don't want to go to work today, but my boss is on vacation, and if I call in due to my UC it may not work. This job I'm at is kinda broke. I'm just annoyed, and stressed, and just don't feel functionable. Kinda wished I wasn't in remission so I could get disability without a problem, but since I'm in remission I doubt that's going to work.

Like I tell my nephew, work isn't always fun and that's why they pay you!

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Hopefully things will calm down at work and in your gut. Pamper yourself when you get home?
Don't ever wish to be out of remission! Yikes
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering. Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed wheat/gluten, other intolerances; eliminated all wheat/gluten from my diet. Probiotics (Ultimate Flora, 50 billion), trying Curamin.
Flaring, seasonal? or supplements too harsh? Back on prednisone, trying 15/20 mg. Appt 3/6 to discuss Humira, etc.

I never wish I wasn't in remission. Last time I was flaring, I was seriously on the toilet 15x a day+. I'd rather work just about any job than spend 80% of the day on the toilet. Most of the time I was sitting on the toilet cramped up and pushing only to see blood in the bowl. It was miserable.

Diagnosed with proctitis in March 2007 - Treated with Canasa 2x Daily
Diagnosed with UC December 08 but had symptoms months ago - Treating with Asacol 400mg (9 a day)

I know it sucks not being in remission, but I was just having major problems with work. Today was a better day, but I've just hit completely done in child care. I'm trying to figure out how to stay home and work on my new career. My constant running to the bathroom went away, but I am cramping, and hurting a little. I managed to stay at work though which was a good thing. Thanks for the input.

If you are having diarrhea, then you could be flaring slightly. Can you call in sick? It is flu season.
