I know that doctors do not believe that there is connection between UC/Crohn's and Candida growth. Even if you have candida and do stool studies, they will not be found in your stool because they don't come out unless you stop feeding them off with high refined sugars.

First of all, Candida lives in body with acidic condition. If your body's pH level is down then they will grow more(drinking will help them grow). So start taking coral calcium to boost your pH along with some drops of lemons in your drinks.
Second of all, if you take prednisone or antacids like Zantac or etc. they will grow out of control for sure because your immune system is down. And reducing your stomach acid will kill less bad bacteria that's coming from outside. (alcohol contributes to yeast growth too)
Third of all, look for signs. do you have white zit pimples before a flare up? They are toxins released from the yeast. After doing yeast detox I'm white zit free but left with some scars. Also, anxiety attacks. I wasn't even able to drive around because my anxiety attacks would kick in at anytime. Do you have cravings? Yeast makes you get sugar cravings. do you have ezcema? Are you always fatigued? Do you have a lot of dead cells? white dry skin in your body? mental confusion?

I had all these symptoms and remember yeast produces over 100 symptoms so it's very hard to catch.

I started taking threelac with oxygen element max from GHT then over the whole regimen diet. and its expensive but right now I'm very good. symptom free almost I'd say. But the detox phase was crazy. I was going to the bathroom and crapping out yeast. You can tell that those were yeast because you can see the strings of the yeast meaning their legs floating. I had bleeding too. and these blood had legs of yeast too which meant that i was crapping out the yeast that were attached to my intestines.

Don't jump to conclusions. This is just my personal experience. I was told about this procedure from someone else who cured their UC through the same method. I didn't believe him at first because the detox phase is horrible(nauseous for a week). I'm in college doing fine at the point. Just need to start putting some weight back.

So the results for me:
1. No more anxiety attack or heart palpitations in random places or even in my big lecture hall with 500 kids.
2. Driving around with anxiety free symptoms.
3. UC symptoms fading away slowly.
4. Less fatigued everyday
5. On no medications. not even asacol.
6. No more white zit acne or ezcema or psoriasis.
7. Good appetite.
8. Never having nauseous feeling. Never having throwing up feeling.
9. Very little urgency to the bathroom

By the way, I drink no stimulants. No coffee, no redbull. Nothing high in sugar. No yeast-bread. No pizza. No sodas(havent had for three months),
but I eat multi-grain(whoe wheat), turkey/chicken, lettuce, cooked asparagus/broccoli, banana(once a day), sometimes organic apple juice, aloe vera juice, digestive enzymes, etc.

Choose wisely. You might experience more bleeding through this phase. It worked for me. and I will update on my condition week or so.
And doctors really don't believe that yeast can cause UC. At least for me it did.
Diagnosed with UC in Feb 2008. Lost 25lb in three weeks. Bloody hell diarrhea
Flare up in june 2008. took more antibiotics. Harder flare
Took prednisone for two months then 6mp. But I decided to get off on both.

10/08Started drinking hard liquors and once drank 15 shots in an hour.
Next day flare up.
11/08 Started anti-yeast regimen. I crapped out so much yeast. still crapping out yeast.

On: No med but zinc, cod liver oil, coral calcium, probiotics, threelac, alpha lipoic acid, chlorella, sea salt, garlic, aloe vera

2-3 times a day to the bathroom. A little bit of diarrhea(detox) then nice stool comes out. no bloating. good digestion.

You contradict yourself a lot in this post. If you're supposed to be upping your pH, why would you add lemon juice, and acidic substance, to your beverages? Also, you say that you avoid all yeast breads, but eat multi-grain bread. Just because it's multi-grain doesn't mean it's yeast-free.

And last time I checked, yeast didn't have legs.
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Eased for ~3 weeks in December, possibly b/c of probiotic use?
Returned in January 2009 (with a vengeance), diagnosed with pancolitis on January 30.
Currently taking Asacol (400mg 4 pills 3x daily), Rowasa nightly, Culturelle probiotic, and Zoloft (25 mg).

um. No when lemon goes in your body. it makes your body more alkaline. And yes yeast has legs and they get root themselves on the walls of the intestines.
Acidic fruits do not make your body acidic. Lemon is detoxifying and alkaline to your body. Just look it up. Multi grain bread has the least so therefore I eat them.

in fact, lemon is HIGHLY alkaline to your body but it is acidic in taste.

I'm not advertising. I'm writing about what I went through and how it worked for me. You can say that people are advertising for all the products out there in this forum. Don't make hasty generalizations.

I was just wondering, I though yeast was killed from the heat when the bread product is baked? Once an a wine ferments into alcohol, isn't the yeast killed as well. I could be wrong on this.

Well, the growth of yeast is aided by sugars. What do you get when carbs get broken down? Sugars. And undigested materials can help them grow too. And obviously beer is really bad if you have candida. Refined sugars(sodas) are detrimental to you the most. so it's imperative that you avoid. you should avoid them regularly anyways.
Getting rid of candida is complicated. I had to research a lot. You will be confused with what I've written above.

ANYWAYS, I HAVE NO INTENTION OF SELLING ANY PRODUCTS. ONLY INTENDED TO DISCUSS MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCTS THAT I HAVE TAKEN AND I AM STILL TAKING.

I only wanted to tell others that I'm sure that I'm UC FREE at this moment after two months of anti yeast hell.
YES. I HAVE TAKEN 40MG OF PRENISONE LAST YEAR AND TAPERED DOWN SLOWLY IN THREE MONTHS. AND YES. I WAS ON 6MP FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS LAST YEAR AS WELL.

ALSO I'M ONLY A PRE-MED STUDENT from Boston. Not a doctor obviously duh. Not intended to diagnose or treat anyone. Just sharing what I wanted/had to share.
Email if you have questions.

Treating a candida overgrowth is very complicated. There are alot of great books and Web sites out there for anyone who's interested and wants to learn more. IMHO, the best book on the subject is Candida-Related Complex: What Your Doctor Might Be Missing.

Some good Web sites to review:

Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999.

Maintenance dose sulfasalazine. Probiotics, l-glutamine, vitamin D and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice. Oregano oil antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal. Mostly grain-free and dairy-free diet. Long-term remission with only minor blips.

I think this is the approach my Naturopathic doc takes with people, with good success (according to him). It was too hard, too incompatible with my social and work life.
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering. Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed wheat/gluten, other intolerances; eliminated all wheat/gluten from my diet. Probiotics (Ultimate Flora, 50 billion), trying Curamin.
Flaring, seasonal? or supplements too harsh? Back on prednisone, trying 15/20 mg. Appt 3/6 to discuss Humira, etc.
