WOW- what a week
I had been feeling very badly for the past three weeks and gradually getting worse. Very weak, lots of pain- It came to a head Sunday and Monday morning I went to the doctor who sent directly to the hospital. I was admitted and just got home today.

So, I was very anemic - 7.3 hemo
electrolytes all messed up- potasium and magnesium very low
                                running a fever
                                low blood pressure- 80/60

I got two units of blood, Procrit, iron infusions and loads of other stuff.
I feel a lot better even though my UC symptoms are still very bad. I am seeing the surgeon Wed. and my surgery will be finally scheduled.

Lessons learned- Please don't wait until you can barely walk to go to the doctor or hospital. The doctor was very concerned when he saw my vitals and labs. He was upset I waited so long to seek medical attention.

Good luck to all

Wow, sorry to hear you were so sick. I hope your appointment with the surgeon goes well and that you're able to have your surgery quickly. Best of luck with everything!
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Eased for ~3 weeks in December, possibly b/c of probiotic use?
Returned in January 2009 (with a vengeance), diagnosed with pancolitis on January 30.
Currently taking Asacol (400mg 4 pills 3x daily), Rowasa nightly, Culturelle probiotic, and Zoloft (25 mg).
