I think I mentioned in previous threads that I was worried about getting over my flare due to the possibility of job interviews in the future (one at U of Wisconsin and one at Purdue U).  DH and I live in WA state, but all of our family lives in the midwest.  I have a PhD and therefore a higher earning potential, so it's pretty much my job that dictates where we live.  Anyway, we want to be back closer to family, especially now that we have a baby and that I have this DD.

I just heard from U of Wisconsin and they want me to come for an interview in late April!  Yippee!!!!!!!!!!  So please keep your fingers crossed that I keep getting better, don't start to flare again, and impress the heck out of them at my interview!
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Eased for ~3 weeks in December, possibly b/c of probiotic use?
Returned in January 2009 (with a vengeance), diagnosed with pancolitis on January 30.
Currently taking Asacol (400mg 4 pills 3x daily), Rowasa nightly, Culturelle probiotic, and Zoloft (25 mg).

I've had UC since 2000 but was in remission for most of those 8 years med free
Lialda Colazal & Asacol made symptoms worse, MUCH worse
Not taking any meds for now. May be on 6mp soon?

49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering. Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed wheat/gluten, other intolerances; eliminated all wheat/gluten from my diet. Probiotics (Ultimate Flora, 50 billion), trying Curamin.
Flaring, seasonal? or supplements too harsh? Back on prednisone, trying 15/20 mg. Appt 3/6 to discuss Humira, etc.
