I haven't seen any active Uc bleeding in about shheessh maybe 3 months or longer??? I still have D though and once in a while I will see a bit of bright blood (on the tp only) but I think that is from my hemmie.  Anyway, we went to my MIL's house yesterday and had stuffed cabbage - yes! I was feeling brave!  smilewinkgrin   And btw, the cabbage didn't bother me in the least.....I was tickled tongue   So I woke up this morning, went to the bathroom and nearly freaked out!  My bms were almost completely red!  So I'm thinking awww darn it, poop, fudge <- you get the meaning behind those innocent words weren't so innocent right?  Then it dawned on me...........the stuffed cabbage was in a tomato soup!  I forgot that tomato soup colors the stool (at least for me).  The second time I went this morning, I was back to normal but dang, I nearly had a heart attack! smurf

That is too funny!!!
One of the hardest things for me to remeber since i got my ileo is that red food coloring makes output red! The first time i ate something red i thought i was bleeding to death, lol.

THats great that you were able to eat the cabbage without problems!

That is a funny story!

I had a MRSA staph infection and they gave me medications to rid me from being a carrier, and one of them colored my urine a bright orange almost red...I thought, 'Wonderful!  What now?  It's bad enough that colon hates me, now my bladder or kidneys have to be asswipes too?!'  Well, of course I figured that one out.

I also had a similar incident just the other day regarding the red food coloring and the output.  I emptied my accessory and about screamed because it was a very dark blood red...after my heart quit beating through my chest it dawned on me I had been drinking fruit punch all day.  : )  Not a funny experience at the time.  : )

Isn't it crazy how senstive we are to the color red?!

Oh lordy yes I hate when I eat something that changes the color of my stool. Because like you Robin I am like "NOW what????" LOL But red is scary especially if you haven't seen it in a while.

Ha! I have the same issue with beets. Love them, but they can be scary to look at in a stool. Yeh...I still look at my stool everday. :-)
