New GI ? what to say

Hi i'm seeing a new GI tomorrow gp sending me as having bad flare at moment should i tell it like it is and be honest about how i feel or wait and see what the gp has told him gp seems to think i might need another colonoscopy and maybe steroids has only been 10 months since last one and so far have only ever been on predfoam when first dx for about 4 wks but remain on supps am a bit scared of what he might say but hate how i am at moment
  
  Diagnosed 22.5.08 with Lft sided U/C
  Meds Predfoam 20mg 2x day stopped started pentasa supps 1gm 26/6/08
 Asacol 800mg x2 twice daily
  Domperidone 10mg as needed
  co codamol 30/500 x2 when needed

Your doctor can't adequately treat you if you don't tell him how you really feel. IMO, there's not much point in even going if you're not honest with him.
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Eased for ~3 weeks in December, possibly b/c of probiotic use?
Returned in January 2009 (with a vengeance), diagnosed with pancolitis on January 30.
Currently taking Asacol (400mg 4 pills 3x daily), Rowasa nightly, Culturelle probiotic, and Zoloft (25 mg).

I found a new doctor always wants to "see" for himself/herself so probably will want you to have another colonoscopy.  I had two last year and a sigmoid.  My doctor just says looking in there helps treat me when I am not responding to medication.  I had to go on prednisone and now 6MP.  I am doing fine but we are all different and if you have other better options - be sure to try them first.

Senior - New diagnosed with proctosigmoiditis - 6/2008  Cannot tolerate mesalamines, Canasa, etc. Tried, Colozal, steroid enemas, etc. - started working but severe side effects occurred.
Started on prednisone Feb.7, 2009 - tapering to 20 mg. for two more weeks and then down to 15 mg.etc.  Added 6-MP Feb. 28.
Added Anusol suppositories - March 16 - see doc in 3 months. 
Probiotic Align, Prilosec for GERD, Gas-X, vitamins, Calcium/D
Tylenol for knees and arthritis.
