Hi there,

I have used it before and it was easy and simple compared with what have had also had to use. It is over and done with very quickly and as I used to put mine in just before bed, I would literally roll over and go to sleep. Put some vasoline on the shaft - that might make it simpler for her. Best of luck with it.

yeah I used this for my Crohn's a few years back, and while it was not pleasant, it didn't hurt any more than I already did and boy, did it do the job. I was so grateful ! I still think of it fondly, even if I don't want to remember it.... eyes
If your daughter is in pain and thinks this is helping her get rid of that, I'd guess you will find that she accepts it as "icky but very useful" ! tongue

Great idea about the lubrication, Teacher! THANK YOU!

SNOHARE - I'm glad you can think of it fondly :) She is not thrilled about using cortifoam, but she does laugh when I calli it THE BUTT FOAM. She is having a mild flare so I think going on Pred would be too much...let's hope this works

Cortifoam is the safest & most convenient steroid med to use against proctitis. It has been a major blessing for many of us posting here-- so I hope your daughter will have equally good results from it. Instead of Vaseline lube, though, I'd recommend one of the water-soluble gels like KY. No mess on underwear or pajamas with that. Cortifoam also stays put once you insert it, unlike the liquid retention enemas. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

Cortifoam is the only rectal med that gets my proctitis right under control.
