As the topic states, I am a new member to Healingwell.com but I have been lurking about for some time now, trying to decide if I feel comfortable joining a "support group". After reading the wealth of kind words, assistance and what seems to be great humor, I have come to realize that this place seems to be exactly what I've been looking for. :)
As my signature states, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in October of 2005, when I was 21. I am now 25. I am one of the lucky few that have only had one flare up, but boy lemme tell ya...it was rough! It couldn't have come at a worse time, as I was working full time, going to school part time and had just started my dental radiology internship. I graduated dental school with flying colors and had a blast doing so, although I was physically miserable. (The work load itself landed me in physical therapy, on top of the UC issues!) With my families support, I didn't let anything stand in the way of my goals. :)
In the months of lurking through threads, a light began to shine on the many unanswered questions and "mysterious symptoms" that I had. Not that I'm glad anyone should have to suffer the same, but it's nice to know that I'm not losing my mind or imagining things! I have a plethora of questions but tonight I just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. So hey there, hi there, hello there! I hope all of you are feeling peachy and for those that aren't having the best of days, my well wishes go out to you and please remember to find a reason to smile! :)
(I must add that I chose the name because frankly, I hate Tramadol but dangit, some days it's the only thing that helps! And when I'm feelin good, well I'm a Doll!)
