According to my Naturopath, L-Glutamine. I haven't had a chance to try it yet since I'm breastfeeding.
31 yr old female currently breastfeeding (weaning so I can start 6mp)
Mild Pancolitis
I've had UC since 2000 but was in remission for most of those 8 years med free
Cannot tolerate mesalamine - starting 6mp soon

L-glutamine, Mucosaheal (which contains l-glutamine), aloe vera (I recommend George's Roadrunner Aloe Vera Juice) and high doses of omega3 to reduce inflammation.

Do a search on l-glutamine and you'll find plenty of threads. In fact, we were just discussing it earlier in the week.

Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999.

Maintenance dose sulfasalazine. Probiotics, l-glutamine, vitamin D and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice. Oregano oil antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal. Mostly grain-free and dairy-free diet. Long-term remission with only minor blips.

Hey Dr-A, I also take Lialda. I take 4 a day in the morning for a total of 4.8 grams a day. You only take 1 a day? It doesn't do nothing for me. Im also using canasa every night. I also have proctitis......

Thanks everyone for the comments. I will try the glutamine. I'm also gonna start the turmeric.

I actually quit taking the lialda. I was doing 4 a day and it did nothing for me, on top of me pooping them out. Too expensive to pass into the toilet, lol.
