hi, as i have doubled my canasa suppositories - 2Xday - it is falling very expensive :-( (my insurance is not much help here) i was just thinking that will there be any difference if i shift from Canasa to Salofalk (which i plan to order from Canada).

i have a few questions regarding this:

1)Are they made exactly of same stuff! (i mean same composition /weight wise etc)
2) do they have similar effect.
3)Has anyone noticed any difference in the result both give during flare up?
4)Do they look the same (bullets :-) - i find these bullets pretty easy to use)

Thanks ! Sorry for this lengthy question list - but i want to be sure before i make a shift..if they r different then i will prefer sticking to Canasa even though i land up paying higher.

I switch between Canasa and Sallofalk. They are pretty much exactly the same as far as I know. The Salofalk are harder to open. I use a little scissor. The makers of Canasa have a patient assistance program that helps people get the drugs for cheaper. I am not sure if you would qualify because you have insurance but it's worth a try. I get it for 2$ because I don't have insurance. Sometimes it pays to not have insurance I guess.

Diagnosed with proctitis in March 2007 - Treated with Canasa 2x Daily
Diagnosed with UC December 08 but had symptoms months ago - Treating with Asacol 400mg (9 a day)
