Protein in urine...why and what is a bad #??

Dear weekend doctors:
Late Friday, my daughter got a lab result that indicated her urinalysis came thru with a +2 for protein in her urine. No other abnormal markers for infection. This test was done by her soon- to- be- gynecologist, as we are considering birth control pills or the heavy bleeding she gets from 7-8 day long periods. An anemic person should not have to contend with that too.
With the 6mp, Remicade and Colazal in full force in her system, is this an abnormal result? Of course, no one is available for consult, so I rely on my friends here, in case you know something. Kidney disease scares me. Thoughts?
Daughter,15 diagnosed 1-08 w/ UC .
Previous drug sampling: Asacol, Prevacid, Flagyl, Prednisone- 50mg to 0, 4 major flares '08.Hospital four x. Low residue diet,
6MP, Colazal , Cortifoam enemas,
Trying probiotics, Niferex, fish oil, Magnesium, Acupuncture.
Remicade 10mg per kilo@ 8wks, since 10-08. Still on 6mp and Colazal
