Alright, first question...

Does colitis affect our abilities to retain water in our large intestine?

I feel like I pee a lot, and that I'm also dehydrated no matter how much water I drink. My logic is that the colitis destroys the villi or some water retention aspect of the colon. When I lift weights at the gym, I go through about six 20ml bottles of water. If I don't, my lips become extremely chapped, dry skin, etc.

Any thoughts?

If you are a guy, your lower colon presses right up against your prostrate gland, I thought maybe if your colon is inflamed and swollen it might affect you prostrate as well making you have to pee more. I don't know for sure but it is a theory of mine. Or it could just be a side effect of any of the drugs you may be taking.

I feel like I have to pee every 7-10 minutes. Since my UC symptoms are never in remission (abodiminal pain, cramping internal inflammation though most of the time the stool never has blood you can actually see) I wonder if this is causing this? I'm looking for answers. It's worse when my condition is irriated, has to be atleast somewhat related IMO but what do I know.
UC since 2006

2009 UC Pancolitis though Primiarly Left Sided, Active Moderate

Current Meds: Lialda 4 tab a day
Predinsone (40 mg a day) since 3/30 Not doing anything, hopefully something soon!

Current Supplements:
Vit. B-12, Vit. D3, VSl#3 Probiotics

What does remission feel like, I don't remember!

Nip UC in the bud with diet before it nips you in the bud (or butt) for good!
