Recently I was prescribed Asacol, but unfortunately  I am very allergic to it. I now have a full 180 tablet bottle that is still sealed. I have tried to find a pharmacy that participates in the Texas prescription recycling program but have not found anyone so far. I really hate to throw out $300 worth of medicine and I know I cannot "give" away-  that I must turn it over to a pharamacy. Anyone else have any luck donating medicine in Texas?

Contact the safety net (free) health clinic in your town, they will know how to make use of it if it's at all possible.
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering. Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed wheat/gluten, other intolerances; eliminated all wheat/gluten from my diet. Probiotics (Ultimate Flora, 50 billion).
Flaring, seasonal? Back on prednisone, tried to taper but now back up to 30 after several really bad days. Humira denied, waiting for approval to start Remicade.
