Hi, lately i've been having 1-2 severe bm's every 1 or 2 days.  Painful, feels like my intestines are trying to squeeze everything out.  It has some blood, and of course stinks.  It's not as painful as when I was diagnosed or countless times a day.  Also everytime I go to the restroom, even just to pee, something comes out.  I've been calling it sediment.  I guess it's like when my body finally relaxes this stuff comes out.  It's not painfull, just kinda tan looking sand.  Anyone have this or any suggestions.
diagnosed with UC in 2008
current meds: asacol 3 400mg 3 X a day, remicade every 4 weeks, prenatal vitamin, probiotic, gelatin pills

I know what you are talking about the sandy stuff, I usually average about 2 BM's a day lately, when I first go in the morning, I have lots of gas and that sandy stuff, or small soft pieces, then usually more normal stool follows, I've had blood on and off, different levels for months now.
Sometimes going pee can make me feel like going out the other end, but usually if I am emptied out good it doesn't happen.
I think that sandy stuff is probably fairly common, might be from the drugs, I don't know.

I would suggest you get a urinalysis test done.  Sounds like it may be sediment.  You don't want to wind up with kidney stones.

I was just looking online about what can cause sandy stool because I get that too on occasion and one thing that popped up was that sandy looking stool can be an indication of celiac disease. I'm not saying this is what you have but you may want to look into this. Celiac disease can also produce an extremely foul smelling bm.

Oh, maybe I misread your statement.  Thought you saw sediment in your urine.
