I've been in remission for a year now, and haven't even THOUGHT about
stopping my meds. I never, ever, ever want to be that sick again. Never. I know that meds won't keep me from eventually flaring again, but I fully believe they'll keep me from flaring that badly again, and will keep me in remission for longer than if I were to quit taking them. And, I don't want to risk mesalamine not working. I've heard too many stories about
people who quit taking mesalamine, only to not have it work when they flared again. Besides, I know this is a chronic disease and that it won't go away.
