Hi everyone! I'm sooo confused what can I eat and what not! My symptoms is very stable no matter what I eat. How do you know if some food affect you? Specially, if you are in remission, and you ate something bed...does it mean you are in flare again or just few symptoms come and go?
Sometimes I have weird sounds and something like gass on my left side after I eat...What does it mean and how to get rid of it? I understand it when you have left side colitis, but I have only two inches effected in the rectum area...This is a mystery for me!!! smurf
Diagnosed with left-sided UC on Sept 08 Colazal 5x2day, Lialda 2 per day (so unusual to take just 2 pills)
Canasa 1 supp. every nigh Cortifoam 1 at night
Vitamins: Zinc, B complex, Fleexsead Oil capsules, Multi. Digestive Enzymes (helps a lot)

What are your current symptoms? If you're flaring and symptoms are pretty bad, you may not be able to tell a difference no matter what you eat. It's when you start to heal and symptoms abate that it becomes more obvious which foods affect you adversely. Keeping a food journal can help you track your reactions to different foods.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999.

Maintenance dose sulfasalazine. Probiotics, l-glutamine, vitamin D and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice. Oregano oil antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal. Mostly grain-free and dairy-free diet. Long-term remission with only minor blips.

I almost have no symptoms...I have BM onece a day and it's formed. The only symptomes are a little blood and mucus which don't bother me, but bother my GI! She wants me to start Pred., but I'm refusing it so far. Sometimes I become bloated after I eat...but again, I can eat apple and get bloated today, and eat three apples tomorrow and feel fine...What are the common reactions on the food?

Foods can cause a variety of reactions: increased cramping, bleeding, increased mucous, gas and bloating, diarrhea or constipation.
