At least for me! I know I should eat soft food, I know what to avoid, but I'm so hungry when the food is in front of me I could knock someone out for it.

So, stupid as it is, and as MUCH as I know it will hurt, I'll eat the wrong darn food because of the wicked Prednisone monster.

Or maybe it's not the prednisone and it is just ME that is stupid!

I actually had peanut butter yesterday followed by a half a glass of milk! Stupid, stupid, stupid, but I had a craving for the darn milk.
A few nights before that I killed myself with pizza!

Then I feel so stupid for doing this to myself!

There is no reasoning with a person high on pred! devil I was an eating machine for the first week I was on pred last time, then for some reason I completely lost my appetite for the last 2 1/2 weeks I was on it.

I eat like a mad man when on a high dose of pred, but I try to surround myself with healthy snacks that I can constantly graze on. Almond milk is a great sub for milk if you've never tried it. Krogers usually stocks it. I have pigged out on 2 pizzas or something too, lol. If I had a box of zingers in the cupboard I would eat all of them, so I just don't keep that stuff.

I could be so much more sensible without the pred, but so much sicker then I don't eat anything!

Why is peanut butter and milk bad - do you have lactose problems?  Just overeating is my problem - mostly sweets.  I eat peanut butter on white toast every morning for breakfast - never stopped even before prednisone. I guess we have to find what agrees with us.  I truly don't thnk anything causes UC to flare or bleeding, etc. but fiber and roughage and spices make my colon worse.  Otherwise, I eat everything.  ElaineNY

I bought a big flat of frosted doughnuts and ate them all weekend. The craving for them was just...too...strong. Even my husband was shocked at my gluttony.

Fortunately it doesn't seem to have bothered me... except on the bathroom scale! yikes.

I am not lactose intolerant but milk and cheese are THE worst things I can eat when I have colitis. They give me pain that is right off the pain scale and increase blood 300%. Peanuts and nuts affect me badly too when I'm flaring. When I'm not flaring, I can eat anything and I really enjoy a cup of milk here and there.

Oh my god - I am the worst when it comes to eating the totally wrong foods while on Pred!

I go to the supermarket especially, come wind or rain, to stock up on the WORST foods to eat on UC.
It is absolutely amazing how Pred can make us behave in this way...
Abatacept Trial since Feb 2008 (Maintenance Period)
Back on Pred - 4mg - Steroid Dependent :-(
Azathioprine 150mg
Colazide x6
Actonel 35mg, EPA Fish Oils
Predfoam Enema - Had to stop as not allowed during trial
Asacol x 9, Lialda (Mezavant)
Remicade every 8 weeks  (Stopped working)
Aloe Vera Lily of the Desert Juice  Gave me the worst D !
Primadophilus Reuteri Probiotic

I assume you all mean the worse things for YOU and your particular colon or stomach.  I honestly still don't believe there are foods that are bad for UC for everyone.  BUT - we each have foods that "bother" us.  I have IBS so uniquely have to eat differently.  I do believe when I was younger I would not have had any problem with eating anything as far as making UC worse, etc.  BUT, then again we are all different and find out for ourselves what we can or can't eat to make us sick.  I have not found anything that makes my UC worse as far as bleeding or pain! I love prednisone but the fews pounds I have gained from sugar food and snacking are not fun!!
