I went to a specialist my GI referred me to and he says that since the biopsy results were not conclusive and they were only able to see 35 cm of the colon due to inflammation.....that I need to have a repeat colonoscopy and that he will use a "specialized" scope to see the entire colon.  That makes two colonoscopies and a barium enema in a months time.  Geez....sometimes I wonder if the treatment isn't worse than the disease!!

I have to have a colonoscopy next thursday and I had my last one 1 1/2 years ago. I have a new dr and the meds that I have been on arent working so he wants to do another one to see if the other dr missed something or if its gotten worse over time. Yea i have to agree that this disease is awful! I am now up to 12 asacol pills and now a proctofoam enema along with vitamins a day. Before this started up for me I always said I wouldn't take tons of pills ever...now im 25 and look at me now!
