A day late but Bratcat is 18!!

Yesterday Bratcat turned 18!! Happy, healthy, going full speed.
What a difference a year makes.
Hope everyone feels as good as she does.

Daughter bratcat was diagnosed with pancolitis October 2006
Flared Fall 2006, Fall 2007, Spring 2008
Asacol, Rowasa, hydrocortisone enemas, prednisone, 6-mp, Remicade
7/3/08-Step 1 j-pouch surgery and no more meds!
11/10/08-Step 2 reconnect! Living and loving life as a teenager should!
 
Son nonamejames was diagnosed with Crohns in Spring 2008
Asacol, Pentasa, 6-mp

Ohhhh Bennie,
How wonderful!!! Tell her congratulations for me. It was rough going for her there for a while I'm so thrilled that things worked out so well for her. She's a tough one, I don't think that there is much in this world that will ever be able to get her down for long especially with you by her side supporting her. You two are one amazing team!!!

Diag. Aug 06 (Proctosigmoiditis), finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 12 August 08, Paxil (1 a day) for Depression & anxiety, Azathioprine (1 every morning)Morphine (three a day) for pain, Tramadol (as needed for breakthrough pain),  Fioircit (for migrains), Phenergran (for nausea), Prednisone (10 mg tabs 4 a day), Omeprazole (for gerd from the pred), Tylenol PM (to actually get some sleep every once in a while), Calcium (for osteopenia), aloe juice (2Xs a day), chinese herbs for energy.

*Heather* Status: mild flare enemas tapered to every 2nd night
~diagnosed January 1989 UC (proctosigmoiditis)
~UC meds: Asacol (3 x2 daily); Salofalk enemas nightly for flares & taper to maintenance 
~Bentylol (dicyclomine) 20mg as needed; Ranitidine (reflux);  Effexor XR 75mg(depression);  Pulmicort/Airomir (asthma) 
~vitamins/minerals/supplementsProbiotics....(Natural Factors Protec, Primadophilus Reuteri Pearls, Natural Factors Ultimate). @ bedtime
~various digestive enzymes as needed; started Omega 3 
~URSO for PSC (or PBC) 500mg X 2 daily (LFTs back to NORMAL!!)
My doc's logic.. "TREAT (FROM)BOTH ENDS"  worth it !!!

Happy birthday!!! :)
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Eased for ~3 weeks in December, possibly b/c of probiotic use?
Returned in January 2009 (with a vengeance), diagnosed with pancolitis on January 30.
Currently taking Asacol (400mg 4 pills 3x daily), Rowasa nightly, 40mg 30mg 20mg 15mg 10mg 10mg of Prednisone every other day, Culturelle probiotic, and Zoloft (25 mg).

Happy 18th to Bratcat, who can now register to vote! Glad to read that she's feeling fine & keeping pleasantly busy. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

I too ,have followed your journey. I have hope for my own daughter because of you. Happy Happy birthday. I know that birthdays are always more important to the mommies---so happy day to you.

Daughter,15 diagnosed 1-08 w/ UC .
Previous drug sampling: Asacol, Prevacid, Flagyl, Prednisone- 50mg to 0, 4 major flares '08.Hospital four x. Low residue diet,
6MP, Colazal , Cortifoam enemas,
Trying probiotics, Niferex, fish oil, Magnesium, Acupuncture.
Remicade 10mg per kilo@ 8wks, since 10-08. Still on 6mp and Colazal

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!

Today is actually my mom's birthday (Bennie). We treated ourselves to pedicures to celebrate. :-)
Diagnosed with UC 10/12/06

Flared 3 times in a year and a half tried almost all medicines
Current Meds:None!!

Oh how fun, I had a pedi and a manicure done at the same visit once, felt like a queen that day LOL!
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)
