When I was waiting for oil change yesterday afternoon, I went to a Starbucks and had a cup of coffee mixed with milk.
This was the first time  I took milk when I was diagnosed.

Then, I went to bathroom twice during night due to pain. felt no pain after passing some gas.
finally, began to pain in the morning and had a D.
And not feel very well the whole day.
Maybe I am really allergic to milk or I shouldn't drink coffee without eat anything.

Just to give you guys a warning....  using my own lesson.
Be careful.....

I'll have issues with lactose when I'm flaring or recovering from a flare. During those times, I take Lactaid. It works wonders. No gas. No diarrhea.

Coffee makes my poo not as solid. I don't know why. I only drink decaf, which is about 3% caffeinated. Many it's the packets of sugar I add to it.

Colitis Dec 06 (also have IBS)
Currently in remission
Don't expect your doctor to cure your health problems. Your health is your responsibility.

Lexapro (for stress), Probiotics and Vitamins (a whole bunch of them)
Avoid HFCS, foods high in fructose, artificial sweeteners
When flaring: eat anti-inflammatory foods, avoid pro-inflammatory foods
Previous treatments: Fecal transplantation (worked), Prednisone (stopped working), Colazal (stopped working), Asacol (stopped working)

Hi...Is it a coffee you would drink normally or is it the first time you had that particular kind?

Are you flaring at this time?

Did you consume it on an empty stomach? and did you eat much during the day?

I've only had Starbucks coffee twice and it totally doesn't agree with me.
However, I did have a latte the other day with a hotdog from Costco...I wasn't nauseated, but did have lots of activity in my gut later that evening. No problems the next day, however, which I was surprised...but it was more milk than coffee, so that could be why. I am somewhat lactose intolerant, but maybe the amount wasn't over and above my limit.

Definitely subjective regarding food/drink intake....and for some of us, it does depend on if we're flaring or how much of something we consume is too much.

Welcome to the forum Panda, if I haven't already done so.

I LOVE coffee and since starting to flare I keep trying it and it keeps upsetting my stomach all day and I keep running to the bathroom. It's not the caffeine b/c I switched to decaf, it's just something about the coffee that does not work. Every time I test it I end up in the bathroom all day and have a horrible day w/ blood. One day I'll be able to get back on it (hopefully) but for now every morning I have to tell myself it's not worth the pick me up because the good feeling that I get from coffee only lasts a short while.
Diagnosed when 13 and am now 25, female. Currently taking 100mg of 6mp, started at 60 mg of prednisone and now down to 30 mg, and 12 pills of asacol a day. I tried cortifoam for this flare and it didn't work. Previously I've tried all types of rectal meds but nothing ever helped. In the past I've tried rowasa, enemas, pentasa, colazal, sulfasalizine. I was in a four year remission until the end of January.

I know from my own experience that milk is still bad for me even after having the J pouch surgery I have tried to drink milk again and within the hour I find myself going to the bathroom and then 2 or 3 more times in the next few hours I don't have any trouble with coffee but we are all different good luck to you

Maybe you can try using that soymilk instead, to me the Silk brand taste fine, or better than milk, of course it is a matter of personal tastes.

Coffee and dairy never work well with me...and Starbucks coffee is way strong, when I did get drinks there it was soy lattes or just a soy steamer(steamed soy milk with some syrup). I've been off milk for so long I can't even remember when I last had milk. The soy steamers help me feel like a regular person who wants to pretend she's drinking coffee!

I don't drink coffee. When I was flaring I couldn't drink milk but I could eat ice-cream.
Now I'm in remission and I can drink tea with cream and sugar again. It's my favourite drink and I'm so happy that I can have it again.

Lactaid is amazing for me. It's the best dairy free milk!

lactaid milk isn't dairy free....it's ALL dairy with lactase enzyme added to the processing that's already broken down most or all  of the lactose in the product.
You can, however, state that it's a lactose -free product
