Hello all!!
I just started 6mp 5 days ago and i don't know if this is just my UC acting out
but i am having today not so nice diarrhea, is it possible to have this side effect from 6mp??
I also just started Cortifoam- seemed to work until todays episode. I have had this
disease for 20 years and i am now 41. I usually experience joint pain most of the time
which tells me that i am never in total remission. The fall and spring always show there ugly face
inside of me..I have a new Dr. out of Mount Sinai in New York City and he is great.
I am just a little anxious to see if 6mp works, i really deserve a remission. Any feedback
would be greatly appreciated. If this doesn't work then i am going to try crazyglue suppositories.
I wouldn't wish this on anyone, i do believe stress is the culprit-even if you don't really think you are
stressed, your colon is.

It did not work for me, but many others how found that 6-mp is their miracle drug. Drugs work differently for everyone and you just gotta find the right concoction. I really hope it works for you. You DO deserve remission!! :)

I have been on 6MP for two months while tapering prednisone.  I would consider myself in remission for the last week but still taking prednisone 25mg.  I was told 6 MP could take from 3 to 6 months to "work".  I will find out as I taper more - waiting for results of tests right now.

For me it would seem that 6mp is not working. It has been nearly 6 months and I have only done well while on 30-40mg of Pred. I am still waiting on my second Prometheous test to see how well I was metabolizing the meds, but it would seem that I am on the next drug, most likely remicade. I feel your pain with the not so nice "D" and after 20 years you really deserve a long remission.

hello all,
I also recently started taking 6MP, 50mg for now. Also on this Specific Carbs Diet as well. I work at a hospital and am abit nervous being on 6MP and getting infections.
If you have been on 6mp for awhile please let me know what your experience has been. do you feel that you are prone to infections more than usual?
Thank you

I also wanted to know if any of you are still drinking coffee. I have days where i could drink 3 cups and have
no problem and others, well you know. I am thinking of upping the pred on my own again to 50mg temp, then cutting down to 40mg
in a week. I really have to work i am the only provider. I always feel like i have to O.D. on everything just to get by. I have been my
own Dr. when it comes to the pred. The only problem is i think the longer on the pred the less it works at 30mg.

Thanks for the feedback.....tonight was just bland rice...I MISS REGULAR FOOD!!!

SIR - is your signature right?  Do you take 50mg. THREE times a day.  WOW!  I hope that is a mistake.  I only take one 50mg. pill at night - raising to 75 for a week was too much so I went back to 50mg. - waiting for blood test results.
