When the Meslamine wasn't working, this is what he put me on for 3 weeks. (25MG).  He said to call him after 1 week to let him know what's going on.
Now heres where my GI confuses me again.  Everywhere I looked on the www about these suppositories, it said the usual dosage is 1 in the AM and 1 in the PM.
He has me only on 1 in the PM, yet, said if they don't work he will put me on pred.(oh no you won't)
He evidently has something against the cort enemas, and foam for I have asked 3 times about them, anbd he just puts me on something different.
It will be a week tomorrow, so I have to call, him, and there really isn't much change. Usually 2 or 3 urgent bowel movements a day, which makes me still worried about leaving the house.(he also gave me lomotil and Bentyl for when I do have to leave)
Urgency has always been my biggest problem, rather than many D's a day, and the blood is still there but very minimal.

So after all this rambling, can anyone tell me if you took these steroid suppositories, and what you dosage was, and how often you were told do use them?
Also did they make a huge difference?  Do I have to wean off them?
Ulcerative proctitis. On Asacol 3 3x a day, and Meslamine enemas nightly.
Now on Hydrocortisone suppositories for 2 weeks.

Urgency is still my biggest problem.  rarely have D, but extreme gas and urgency at any given time.

If you are able, maybe try them twice a day. Did he give you some refills?

Some say you don't have to wean off them....but I would suggest you taper to find a maintenance.

Yeah, I don't get why some doctors are only on the pred kick, maybe they just get ticked their patients aren't healing quickly.

You could ask him for the proctofoam or cortifoam instead of the cortenema.

I wouldn't go on pred either.

I use Bentyl, and if I'm flaring, it helps with the spasming, but I still have urgency. It's part of the med regimen, but won't help the inflammation.

Nope you feel better soon.
