Hi there.
I went to a fantastic acupuncturist who got me into remission in only 2 or 3 weeks. I was very sick and ready to just go to the hospital and give up. He was a miracle worker for me. I went for about 10 months regularly to keep healthy. I started having to miss appointments for various reasons (like a blizzard, etc) and I started to get worse. I was never able to have the same "miracle" response to acupuncture again, although I've gone back a bunch of times to feel better during flares. It still helps if I go regularly (once a week at least) for a while, but it hasn't put me back into remission again.

I've also tried to follow some of the dietary suggestions from my acupuncturist and my Chinese medicine books.

The problems with acupuncture are:
1) it's very difficult to find someone excellent (I think the best way might be to ask a bunch of western doctors. They tend to know who their patients have gone to and trust.)
2) insurance rarely pays for it
3) you have to go regularly for it to really work

I do think it's worth a try. I still marvel at the results my doctor got in just a few sessions. I stopped taking all meds and felt amazing!

I really don't know, if it did help me much.

I had taken Chinese medicines (these were some herbal pills), about 15 years back. about 100 pills, quite small, had to be taken in one go, thrice a day. It was too much. I tried it for over one year. While I was visiting China (Canton) in 1984, one dear friend of my father also used to get some herbs grinded and boiled in water in the morning. He and his wife were very sweet. This used to help me. Even my sister and brother had flared up during their visit to Canton and tried this herb through Mr. Chiang. They got into remission.
