I am just wondering how fast did you get side effects from taking prednisone. Such as hunger, dizziness, etc. I have been on it for 5 days now and actually have less of an appetite then before I started it...it seems to make me feel sick and nauseus even though I take it after I eat every morning. Just wondering if the side effects usually come over time or happen fairly fast. (except for weight gain and moon face....i know those take a little time to get)

to answer ur qn,
it really depends on the person. I am now tapering down prednisone (on 35mg for this week) & my side effects occur in a few days after taking it. Some side effects take longer. Each person is different. I feel that i do get hungry. It also makes me alittle more anxious. for boneloss it would take longer.
feel well

Try not to look too much into the side effects. If you're anything like me, if you know about them - you develop them! The first time I was on pred I had zero side effects.

The only side effect I had was a little bit of moonface that started about a week after I started taking pred.
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Eased for ~3 weeks in December, possibly b/c of probiotic use?
Returned in January 2009 (with a vengeance), diagnosed with pancolitis on January 30.
Currently taking Asacol (400mg 4 pills 3x daily), Rowasa nightly, Culturelle probiotic, and Zoloft (25 mg).

I started blowing up like a balloon within the first three days. But I also gave into the cravings and ate everything in sight. LOL. But as was said before, try not to stress over the side effects, if they happen then they happen, but you might be one of the lucky ones. Just try not to think about it too much, you already have enough stress in your life with this DD, don't add anymore on top of it. Especially knowing what stress can do to us. I wish you the best!!! Good luck!!
