I was ok this morning, a little burning. I got to work sitting down ate some red vine licorice (already ate oatmeal for breakfast) and OMG my butt is so burning, I'm crying! I took two tylenols to help, it burns from my anus to my vagina. Could it be acid that moved down there from eating? I'm going to see my gyno to make sure  I don't have a bacteria problem (I'm just going to pee in a cup, should I be looked at?) I'm pretty sure its my rectum, just right inside that is killing me! I tried everything, but now I'm at work I can't sit in a bathtub. Would you take a zantac would it help now or should I try rolaids or something?

one more thing, ya know I'm wondering if my probiotics are giving me a problem. I took two this morning and sometime I take them at night and I have a problem at night. Maybe they're too strong, they are by Klaire- Therbiotic has anyone experienced this?

I can't help you with this, unfortuantely- but after reading your recent posts, I'm wondering if you've ever thought about making an appointment for a consult with a highly respected IBD GI? I don't know your current status, re. your own GI or PCP- do you think they are helping you? It doesn't seem so. Why not do some research into really good hospitals or clinics in your area, make an appointment, & go & tell them exactly what's going on, present them with all the info you've got, & see what they recommend? I mean, this board is great but it does get to the point where you need some clinical advice. Not anecdotal. You just seem awfully uncomfortable as of late, & nothing seems to be helping. Are you %100 adverse to surgery? And you can't take ANY Western meds?

I think I figured out what my problem is, the probiotic I ordered.  I can't say for sure, but they are to cause bacteria die off the company said, but normally those are flu lick symptoms she said. Well it's been exactly 2 hours since I took the probiotics and bam a slow creep of pain, burning and itching. I'm going to GYNO right now and pee in a cup to rule out bacteria in the vagina i.e UTI (urinary tract infection) Western meds, if I could find ones that didn't make me poop my pants would be great. I ordered Asacol and Bently today from my doc and should have tomorrow. How much does anyone know is ASACOl without prescription coverage? I've read some people experience anxiety on asacol too, it's annoying. It makes me have "nervous" feelings. I'm off to pee in a cup!

my ass burns sometimes too. I think I have a cut or tear. Could this be your problem?

Try metronidazole gel on your butt. If the burning is too much try any cream with menthol or zinc for soothing (cool effect). It would help.

Your probiotic is supposed to kill bacteria? That sounds really odd to me....
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Eased for ~3 weeks in December, possibly b/c of probiotic use?
Returned in January 2009 (with a vengeance), diagnosed with pancolitis on January 30.
Currently taking Asacol (400mg 4 pills 3x daily), Rowasa nightly, Culturelle probiotic, and Zoloft (25 mg).

I am not sure if this will help but a friend of mine who does NOT have UC kept having problems as you described...She finally went to the dr. and found out she has "lichen sclerosis"...Its a skin disorder that can effect that area...The dr. gave her a steroid cream and some other med and she is better now...She just couldn't figure out why her butt was itching and burning REALLY BAD all the time and it was in the vaginal region also...Like I said, this could possibly and probably not be much help, just thougt I would throw it in here...I will be curious to see what the dr. says...

yeah actually this probiotic was designed for people in Africa to kill all the bacteria there, I know it sounds weird as heck. Klaire Lab is the company.  Well I'm taking my Cipro, I remember when I took it last time, for one day I was completely normal no inflammation or anything. Maybe a miracle will happen this time?????
