I had to share because of so many of the things I have read here recently!

I am still tapering off prednsione, presently at 40 mgs and dropping down by 5 mgs every four days.

I was told not to make myself crazy over what I eat. I got a frown when I mentioned the cooked spinach (which has done me no harm and may be the only thing that unstuck my very bad case of nothing coming down) and was told to stay away from the roughage for awhile yet. I was told that I could add sauces and focus on the lean meats and rice and pasta (which is all I have been eating for 2 months). I was told that some things are going to be hard on me, some days aren't going to be as good and that is too be expected because I have a sick colon.

I have now been put on Mezavant 4.8 g per day (four huge pills) to help me get off the prednisone. Hooray, I hope. I believe this is the newest slow release of Mesalazine. Lets see how that works.

All joking and smart ass comments aside, I do like my doctor. I do think he has my best interests at heart and I will follow his advice (for the most part) until I have reason to challenge it due to my individual situation.

I will continue to eat spinach and sunflower seeds and now I will start to add some sauces. You have no idea how badly I want chicken curry. It is a staple in our house.

The best thing about my appointment was that he had a suite on! No scopes for him today.

I think your GI would really hate me after trying a raw food diet. I don’t know what mine will say I see him in about 3 months, bet he will really frown.
