I might have asked you before, but has anything changed in your sex life? That can be a big trigger for UTIs.
I kept having UTIs (pretty much related to intercourse, as it was after my DH and I started dating and were pretty active, and I hadn't really been sexually active before then), and was finally sent to a urologist. He determined (via ultrasound) that my bladder doesn't empty completly when I pee. It's not bad enough to do anything about
(not sure if there's really anything that can be done, though!), but it does make me more prone to UTIs. So, now I just take one macrobid after intercourse and I've not had one since then.
I tried using cranberry pills, but they didn't do anything for me, and drinking enough cranberry juice to help was too much acid for my stomach to handle. I also urinated before and after intercourse with no success.
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Eased for ~3 weeks in December, possibly b/c of probiotic use?
Returned in January 2009 (with a vengeance), diagnosed with pancolitis on January 30.
Currently taking Asacol (400mg 4 pills 3x daily), Rowasa nightly, Culturelle probiotic, and Zoloft (25 mg).
