Far less in depth than I would have liked, but some good basic information.
Pan-colitis and GERD diagnosed May 2003
Osteopenia (hip and spine) diagnosed Feb 2006
Status:  remission
Lialda 4 per day,  Azathioprine 50mg, Aciphex, Effexor XR, Forvia, Fibercon, and Culturelle
Remicade: 1st infusion 06/17/08:  Next infusion: June 17
Last Prednisone dose:  7/15/08

Doing some research on pro-biotics found this link with the different types and roughly how successful the type is for the illness.

Funny the most effective bacteria is E. Coli Nissle for UC about as good as Asacol etc for maintaining remission, yet it isn't sold in the USA or anywhere that I can find. Seems weird because E. Coli is suppose to be a bad bacteria, but must be a slightly different strain.

What is next best for Colitis is Bifidobacterium family from what I gather. I read somewhere else this type of bacteria live in the lower part of your intestine and survive without oxygen. I noticed VSL#3 has this type of bacteria listed at the top ones contained in its formula.
