For the past few months, I have woke up every morning with loose stools. Previous to that, I had bad stabbing/twisting pain in my lower left side (between my hip and pubic bone). Sometimes the pain is up higher (below my ribs) but always on the left side. And other times its more of a burning pain all the way across the left side of my pubic bone. I've had ultrasounds, blood tests, stool samples, urinalysis, celiac blood testing, pelvic exams (both internally and for a hernia of any kind), an MRI, a CT scan...you name it. Now that I've racked up 12,000 in medical bills, I'm still at a loss and still suffering. Every morning I have loose stools - not full fledged diarrhea, but not formed stool. I have tried probiotics, lactose tolerance meds, eliminating my morning fruit smoothies, avoiding milk, etc and nothing has helped. I also have very bad gas as well. The pain is not every day now, thank goodness, but its there every now and then. Does this sound like any symptom of UC to you? I can't afford to go to yet another doctor and get another "i have no idea" Thank you so much everyone....

It could be but it could proabably be due to a lot of things. You need to get a sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy so they can look in your colon and intenstines. That would give you a more solid answer. You may be able to get one for free if you can participate in a medical trial.

Hi..welcome to the forum.

Well, call me stupid, but for list of tests they put you through...didn't anyone think of a colonoscopy?

That should have been one of the first.

I'm assuming you had your ovaries checked...if you're female, that is?

Curious if you're taking any other supplements...if yes, would you list them?

What's your intake of artificial sweeteners like...consider gum as well.

Well, the pain was so low I guess they just assumed gynecological (I am female). I had a transvaginal probe and regular ultrasound and everything was checked out as normal. I do not have ANY artificial sugars as part of my diet, including gum (never chew it). I eat a mostly organic diet, no red meats, no processed foods at all. For the past few months, I have been trying several different probiotics, but with no luck so far. Other than that, no meds of any kind that I'm on or supplements.

Hi....wondering if you may even have endometriosis? Does it seem to increase with ovulation?

I agree that it can be almost anything. If you can, ask about having a scope. This should tell you if something is going wrong in your colon. It could also be the beginning of IBS.
