Writing this for my son Adam who is 19 and going through a flare. Anyone ever have jaw pain with U/C, and if so, how is it related? I know that he grinds his teeth when he sleeps, but says the pain is worse in the morning when he wakes up, then slowly as the day goes on the pain subsides. Kind of hard for him to eat with the pain in his jaw. I called the doc about it, and he said that is could be from stress and that Adam is grinding his teeth more and harder than usual.

Thanks

I'd have to think the jaw pain is from grinding teeth. My dentist at one point thought I was doing that (turns out I am a daytime clencher instead!) so I did some research and waking up with pain that gets better as the day goes on is a classic symptom of nighttime grinding. His dentist should have him fitted for a night guard to help save his teeth.
