Hey all!

Just to update you guys: Blood work is back, stool cultures are back. All is normal. Still waiting for the Remicade antibody and concentration levels. Eventhough the old GI told me that my UC is "refractory to steriods, " I'm going back on the Prednisone tomorrow! :( I so hate the stuff. But I hate feeling like I am right now even worse, so I'll guess I'll give it a try.

He also wants me to stay on the Asacol. I did mention to him that I have actually been getting worse since I started it, but he thinks it's the flare, not an intolerance to the drug.

On the advice of my husband, I have tried to lay around less today than I have been. I have just been sitting around feeling sorry for myself and he thinks that that is making things worse. Maybe he's right.

I took a walk with my daughter this afternoon, she pushed her baby doll in its stroller and I got a bit of natural vitamin D. I guess that maybe I do feel a bit better, but almost didn't make it back home (we walked 2 blocks out and 2 back).

Thanks again to everyone for letting me vent and giving me re-assurance. I am just still so new to this darned UC but so frustrated!

Sometimes all we can do it "try"!  By the way what does
refractory to steriods mean.  Never heard it before.  Just so many new things to learn around here.
Tomorrow I do for monthly blood tests to check how 6 MP is doing as far as CBC goes, etc. and also getting prometheus tests for same medication.
Glad you got out.  I know exercise ALWAYS makes me have to "go"!!

I never felt Asacol did anything for me...I take it however. I wish I could stay on Pred - so far its the only thing that has worked for me....although this flare has been rough - below 30mg I start bleeding again...
