Hi to HelloKitty.

I read that you are doing a raw food diet.  How is that going?  Is it helping your condition?  I am thinking about going on a similar diet after I finish the IBD liquid diet.

Im doing the raw food path as well.
Mostly just fruit since about march..

No inflammation, no ulcers etc. but then I got back to like 5mg of prednisone and started eating heavy salads, and cale, collarf greens etc. and my urgency and bleeding came back, I believe I rushed it to quickly and ate to much rouphage...

I speak with paul nison and he helps me a lot, please lets share and exchange diets! I need support and help as well.

Sorry i never saw this email. .My raw food diet crashed on me. I got really constipated. and had to use dried fruits to sort it out. I also had weight problems I was down to 98lb. I felt i was going to snap. On the up side I found that spinach controled my urgencys. As long as it was raw spinach. I did write to Paul Nison thanking him for his books. May be I did something wrong i ate alot of heavey green veg. Blended Kale, Bleded spinach, Blended cucumber. No blood or mucus when I was on raw foods. Just constipation really badly. I did post my raw diet not too long ago i will try to find it. I really didn't understand why my weight just kept going down over the 3 1/2 weeks I was on it.

Every-time I try to add raw fruits and veggies to my diet that is when the urgency starts maybe I am doing it wrong. I may have to pick up his book. Please tell me your experiences. Do you have to eat them in a certain way in-order to not have blood urgency issues? I was eating strawberries etc and salad but it made things worse.

Remicade stopped a major flare for me I am now off all meds except the remicade.

Yea you do have to eat them in a certain way. You have to do a combination eating thing. Are you eating the fruits raw and not from tins? I get ibs symptoms if I eat them with other foods. Fruit must be eaten on its own and 3 hours after you have a meal. For example in England right now I just finished lunch so I can only eat any raw fruits at 6.00 but of course I will be having dinner so the next time I can eat them is at 9.00. It is hard. Sometimes it is best just to have the fruits for breakfast on their own.

for 3 months or so, just fruit.
I started out drinking only papaya nectar and bananas for about 2 or 3 weeks.
Then slowly adding mangos, or cherimoyas, but mostly just papaya and bananas..

You need to follow proper food combining as well, it really does help! but your body will go through detox,
you will loose a lot of weight, but I managed to steady around 130 - 135lbs solid muscle the entire time. I went for 2 or 3 hour bike rids etc. always did pretty well!
then I started eating Lots of salads.. and lots of heavy greens..
went back into flare when I was almost off my prednisone.

Now, Im about 85% raw. I started eating fish.

My new diet is no grains, no carbs/starchs,
lots of raw fruit thru out the morning too mid afternoon,
lots of carrots/carrot juice, coconut water and veggie juice,
light salads, lots of romaine lettuce, fish.
So far, Im doing alright.. no blood, no mucus, some abdominal discomfort here and there, my weight is about 136lbs, all muscle.

My energy tho isnt as good, Im on 6mp and prednisone25mg and colazal..

Im pretty discouraged, and trying to figure out what to do..

no dairy, no grains, no starches or carbs, no nuts, no seeds, no meat, other then fish.
So, lets see what happens.//
