Well folks, haven't been here for awhile.  We were vacationing in our travel trailer in Hershey, PA for the last three weeks.  Had a wonderful time but think I overdid it in the eating department.  This is the time of year we get together with all the friends we met over twenty years ago at Thousand Trails and we really have a ball.  Guess I am paying the price now.  After being in remission since last November 1st.....no proctitis issues whatsoever, I got careless.  I continued with my colazal and 6MP though, never stopped taking them.  Last Sunday I noticed a few small ulcers in my mouth and some mucus in my stools.  That set off a warning signal.  I suppose after ten years you just KNOW these things.  I started with the Cort enemas nightly.  Good thing I brought them along.  My bowels are regular, just one or two a day and formed, no bleeding.....yet.  I do have pressure down there so I know those ulcers are forming.  I have an appointment with my GI doctor next Wednesday.  I am trying to stay off the prednisone for the time being.  Seeing that show about Farrah Fawsett didn't help any.

Update 11/03/08...finally in remission!!  Hope I don't jinx myself.  Off the prednisone since 11/01/08...now see if I can stay off for longer than two weeks.  Other meds: 6MP (75 mgm), colazal (6 per day), Benicar and Toprol (high blood pressure meds), Probiotic (2 per day), fish oil capsule and multi-vitamin and calcium with vitamin D.

Well that just stinks! It's good that you are being proactive in your care. Yeah after having it for so long we recognize our bodies initial "warning bells". I'm glad you had a good time though.
