I've been taking small amounts of Aloe juice for months now but today I decided to drink about a 8 ounce glass.
I suffer from constipation so I thought I would try this.

Within 20 minutes I had a bm. My meds seem to be controlling the bleeding and I'm hoping the Aloe juice will help with repair of my gut and regularity of my bowels.

BTW, Aloe Vera Gel is just Aloe Vera juice with Carrgeenan added. I checked on the Lily of the Desert site and they state this in their FAQ section.

The gel is yucky and Carageenan is used to induce IBD in lab animals, so I feel strongly that the juice (even tho it tastes bitter) is the way to go.

I'd like to hear from other's drinking the juice and what quantity they drink - thanks!!

about 2 ozs of WHOLE LEAF juice seems to work best for me. Any more than that and I don't see any additional benefit-- and it tastes HORRIBLE. I have no idea how you swallowed down a full glass of it. YUCK.

Left-sided UC, Jun 2005. Flex-sig only... clear for first 20cms, then inflamed through next 30cms.

I am drinking 2 tablespoons of the aloe vera gel with cranberry juice 3 times a day. Since I started taking it, my flare is more under control then it was 3 weeks ago before I started drinking the gel.

I use George's Roadrunner aloe vera juice. It has the irritating, laxative component (aloin) removed. It's tasteless... like drinking water. I have a quarter cup in the morning on an empty stomach and in the evening before bed for maintenance.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999. Have been in remission for years with only a few minor blips.
Maintenance dose sulfasalazine. Probiotics, vitamin D, fiber supplement and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice and l-glutamine for gut healing. Mostly grain-free and dairy-free low carb diet.
