I think I am gaining remission for the first time in a while without prednisone. I started a gluten-free lactose-free diet about 3 weeks ago, upped my fish oil dosage, and have been getting more sleep. If I keep this up I may be able to avoid 6MP. Everyone around me has been telling me to take the 6MP, and that I need it. I guess sticking with it really did work out. I just hope this remission stays for a long time.

Sorry, for the comment above I haven’t had any blood or mucus, but I feel really groggy and moody, not quite coherent. That’s what I meant by being on my period. Also I had 2 BMs this morning, I usually only have 1 BM a day. I love raw foods I eat them every day. I will hunt out some organic veg today. Where I live you cant get good organic veg.

I am refusing to go on 6mp. Is a chemotherapy drug. I think that pentasa is as far as I will ever go, and I am only taking ½ my meds at the moment

Hi, I recently realized I think lactose is a prob for me too. I cut it out when Im having trouble. I was fealing like, destroyed, burnt inside. I also cut out wheat in good part as I tested mild positive for S. cerevisia IGa, a celliac thing. Allthough my upper GI showed no celliac there, but
I wanted to be carefull.

Doing those two things and getting back on this amazing VSL3# has saved me. For two weeks I though I was going to die.

Im now reconsidering taking the immuno suppresants I was offered for my Irits. They neve realy diagnosed me, with many negative test. But I have anylosing spondil*** syptoms. With UC syptoms strong at times, bad scary cramping.

Im a guy, Im 29, and I have brutal fibromyalgia, that seems more at times like a neuro thing, like MS, or something sim.

Both of you have a no dairy, no glutten policy?? Is that realy helpfull? has anything else helped you guys beside whats listed?? are you on immuno suppresants?

Happy dance for you! It's a nice feeling isn't it? It's like climbing that huge hill and the sense of accomplishment when you finally reach the top.

mumbles, what you've done is so inspiring. Can you comment on the other things in your regimen (in your sig)?

Well Asacol and Canasa are just my regular meds from the GI doctor. They haven't contributed too much. I've been on culturelle(probiotic) for a while but it hasn't shown drastic results, but I think taking a probiotic is a good habit. I take a mulitvitamin everyday. The haldi drinks I just started a few days ago but I hope they help too. The haldi drinks are just curcumin drinks that are supposed to help inflammation.

I almost forgot, thanks everyone on here that has helped guide me to where I am.
