Has anyone here been part of the FDA experiment group for OPC6535?  Would love to find out when this will be approved and released.  I have sufferred from uc for at least 15 years with out knowing what it was for some time.
I hated what the meds made me feel like and didn't have much relief with any until phase I of OPC6535.  Within the 2nd week of the test I was in total remission.......It was amazing.  The only ill effects were the initial feelings of arthritis which subsided by day 10......And anything beat spending the day/night running in and out of the bathroom!
I was saddened by the experiment ending and the meds no longer available........I dreaded my next flare-up and here it is.......Mine seem to be directly correlated to stress caused by my son's heart problems.
I am a very strong person but my gut seems to be what is affected and reacts to the stress of my son's recurrent and worsening heart problems......
Over the years I have prided myself in being able to get it together and stop these annoying and embarassing flareups.....I just can't this time and I feel like it has really caught up with me.  I am glad that I came across this site tonite.....The sad part is I work in an ER.  This is not something that we like to even talk about ourselves having....

Sounds interesting. I've never even heard of it. I don't understand why they don't make things more available to people?
Diagnosed with mild proctitis in March 2007: Treated with Canasa (as needed)
December 08: Began treating with Asacol 400mg (9/day) + Canasa 2x/day - Anemic
May 09: Off Canasa, taking Asacol (9/day)
Back on Canasa every other night + Asacol (9/day) + Probiotics + Iron
Reducing to 6 Asacol/day + Canasa at night + Probiotics + Iron - So far so good!!!
