Since the surgery, the pain I have been in does not compare to the UC. But, I am about to have the little plastic piece removed... That thing under the stoma that keeps it sticking out... it is like stitched to my belly.

It is just Dr appointment not surgery but does it hurt? Does anyone know? Will they numb it? This is my only surgery ever and when I was in the hospital getting meds pumped all day I could take it but now I am getting worried that it is going to hurt.

Anyone?

Meds just stopped working so I took the problem out! No more colon and all kinds of excitement!

I didn't have that thing but removing it should not be painful. There are no nerves in the stoma and if anything it will just feel like stitches being pulled. Be brave!
