yesterday I was at the rectal doc having my skin tag looked at and he's going to remove it and infared my hemmies. I'm so happy I don't have to go to the hospital to have them worked on.  He said my hemmroid inflammation was mild, better then last year.  I'm 5'7 114 lbs, 17.9 body fat and my blood pressure was 107/80. I'm difently 4lbs below my average weight, 4 lbs makes a difffence on my frame.

I have to be at the airport this Sat. at 4am and I have a problem in the morning pooping, I run back and forth for a hour, no blood, just mush stool and diareeah. Can anyone give me pointers how to get this undercontroll so I don't miss my plane? Why do we "dump" in the morning like this? Or is it just me? I have lomotil, but just half of one, makes me totally stoned but I feel good for the rest of the day. Maybe I should just do half of a half, if you saw how small thats hard to do. Or I can just double up on imodium. Any suggestions, Thank You!
Very mild left sided (could have fooled me with the "mild")  UC. Started LDN ON 1/25/09, stopped LDN on 5/1/09 didn't seem to help. Supplements: Probiotics, Cipro antibiotics 4/29 for 8 days seems to be helping, no bleeding right now, advanced inflammation control

I always go in the moring too. I just deal with it, never tried to stop it from happening. I think you could try going to bed extra early and getting up early and maybe you will have the BMs earlier? Mine ususally happen pretty fast after waking.
Diagnosed with mild proctitis in March 2007: Treated with Canasa (as needed)
December 08: Began treating with Asacol 400mg (9/day) + Canasa 2x/day - Anemic
May 09: Off Canasa, taking Asacol (9/day)
Back on Canasa every other night + Asacol (9/day) + Probiotics + Iron
Reducing to 6 Asacol/day + Canasa + Probiotics + Iron - So far so good!!! -SPOKE TOO SOON! Back to 9/day...

Mine happen the minute I walk to the bathroom. I'm getting better it seems though. I'm going to try the lomotil sometime today, just a nibble off the tablet. I totally remember taking it making me stoned for 2 hours, but after that I was confident I wasn't going to the bathroom in my pants. Trial and error I guess.

I'm assuming you are the one flying?

My doc gave me xanax to deal with the flying anxiety (not fear of flying, fear of pooing), but I didn't think it helped.

When I have had to deal with this, I don't eat or drink anything -- nothing -- until I'm on the plane and the seatbelt sign is off. It's a very anxious situation! It's an hour drive to the airport for me, usually I can make it without stopping but not always. Then I also treat myself to the closest, most expensive parking so I don't have to take a shuttle, figuring it's just a cost I have to absorb because of this disease. At least now they have a bathroom near the gates at my home airport; for a long time you had to leave the secured area to use the restroom, then go back through security again! (small airport). Tough when you are traveling alone, or feel the need to go a few times. And don't get me started on the long security lines at the big city airports...yikes.

Sorry, I don't think I'm helping here! All said, I never had an accident.
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering. Asacol maintenance for 20+ years; used prednisone & Rowasa for flares.  Probiotics (Ultimate Flora, 50 billion), salmon oil (omega-3) when I can remember.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed wheat/gluten, other intolerances; eliminated wheat/gluten from my diet.
Bad flare in March, used prednisone. Humira denied, started Remicade 4/12 and doing great~ learning what normal is~ wow

Double up on immodium 3 hours prior to leaving, then take a lomitil at the airport. Will have a nice feeling for the plane trip.

Get up extra early to get out as much poop as possible. No food or water. Then take 2 or 3 extra strength immodium w/ the gas reducer. Get to the airport. Take some xanax.

Here is a little known fact: you can poop in the on board bathroom before take off!! As long as the plan hasn't started moving yet. So... I like to get on the plane, get my stuff settled and wait until it looks like most everyone is on board. Then I poop one last time and strap in. As soon as the ding goes off that lets the flight attendants get up I will sneak into the bathroom. You are still not supposed to be up yet but heck, if they can be up, so can I. If it makes you feel better, tell a F/A you have a medical condition and may have to get up when the seat belt sign is on. If it is just turbulence they can't force you to go back to your seat.

If you get stuck in a long line of planes waiting to take off tell the flight attendant you have an emergency that can not wait. They will have to tell the captain and he can't move the plane until you are back in your seat and strapped in. It will be embarassing to have every one waiting but more likely than not the plane would still be waiting its turn anyway. Its better than pooping your pants.

Also the day before your flight eat VERY light.
27 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night.  I take xanax prn for situational anxiety (aka no easy bathroom access).
