Has anyone experienced headaches with Remicade? I had a killer one about four days after my last infusion. It was the worst headache I've ever had in my life and if I had a saw I would have cut my own head off. I've had some other ones - not quite as bad - since then. Now as soon as I feel one coming on I pop some medicine. Starting to wonder if they are related.

I can't answer for Remicade, but did get ugly headaches while on Watson Pharma balsalazide last fall. (Now it seems that Salix has cancelled their Colazal savings program that you told us about & started one for their new 5-ASA, Apriso. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!) I hope you'll get relief from the pain real soon. Have you reported it to your doctor? / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

Yeah, I wasn't happy about the whole Colazal thing being cancelled. I saw my GI a couple of weeks ago and he was going to switch me to Aprisa? so I could take that without paying a co-payment (I'm cheap like that!) but then I got home and realized it's the same stuff that's in Asacol, which left me nearly bald. I will probably say something to my GI about the headaches when he gets back from a two-week vacation. I try not to see my family doctor about anything because I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm a total nutjob. I'm kind of at a standstill with Remicade right now anyways because I think I might be getting immune to it. So I'm not sure what to do. Thanks for the reply.

My gastro also tried to push Apriso at me a couple of times. The last time I said flatly that I would not take it because it contains Aspartame. The gastro seemed shocked & replied: "Where did you hear that?" Said I: "I read it online." It just shows where they're coming from-- collusion with the pharmas! I have left-sided UC-- so there's no more reason for me to take Apriso than Asacol, which never helped my situation at all. Sorry to read that you're facing problems with Remicade, too. Sometimes it seems like all we have are poor choices of treatment, whichever meds are involved. Not surprised by your lack of help from the GP, either-- they usually miss clues in cases like ours, & the males among them tend to brush us off as hyper. I think that's why so many females were prescribed Valium for yrs by these guys. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

This is the first I've heard of Apriso. Why would they put aspartame in it? Sorry to get off topic, Scrap Girl. That sucks about your bad headaches.
