Hi everyone I was just reading a post from someone who wanted to get off remicade, after several years of remmission, and a clear scope, and it got me thinking has anyone come off imuran after sucessfully acheiving remissionand gone back to just the non-steriodal anti imfamatories, and maintained remission.

Hey AnnaG,

I did go into remission while on Imuran and did get off of it as directed by my doctor but unfortunately I went back into a flare. But every person's body is different and that doesn't mean you will flare too. Is your doctor suggesting it or are you just wanting to get off of it?
~Was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2002.

Currently taking Colazal, Imuran, Prednisone, Entocort, Limotil occasionally and I am also on Remicade.

Yer I was just wandering if I could come off it at some point I haven't discussed it with my doctor,I've been taking Imuran for nearly 2 years, and I just seem to have gone into remission in the last month, also this is first real remission I've had since being diagnosed in 2006.
I don't want to be taking imuran indefinately, and it dosent seem to be what caused my remission other wise it would not of taken nearly 2years to work,on the other hand I don't want to stop taking it and flare again,Why did you stop taking it ?
