Hi everyone,

I wondered if any of you experienced painful BM's if you eat a particular food?  In the past, if I was flaring, I would get stomach pains if I ate the wrong foods, but now, it seems to hurt like hell when I am on the toilet if I eat something that I shouldn't.

Take care

Certain greasy foods do me in. My first year with the diagnosis, I discovered I couldn't eat fried onions. :( Since then I've been picky about how much grease intake I'd take. I tend to lean more on healthy foods, fresh produce.

doesnt matter if im on a low residue diet, a liquid diet, sustagen, full on meal or mexican or anything.
they all hurt no matter what.

but beans do make me gassier than normal and that hurts me bad.

Painful bms meaning right in the rectum/anus/left sided spasming like you're puking from your butt involuntarily?

Or general cramping before you have a bm and relief once you're done?

Many foods can cause gas or increased activity in the colon. But, it won't cause you UC inflammation.
I have some cramping depending on what I ate if certain foods cause more gas, but I don't get any rectal pain except when I'm flaring...and those are white-knuckler, squealing, sweating, crying agony with the feeling i'm pooing out a watermelon when it's just a teeny tiny turdette. tongue

Thanks for your replies everyone.  Quincy:  The pain is mostly during the actual BM, hard to describe - but it only happens if I eat fried food, etc.  I thought this strange, as I had no abdominal pains at all.
