I just had another colonoscopy a lil over a month ago and my doc said my colon looks much improved from prior scopes.  I think it may be from the colozal I've been on the last couple years.  Before that, the asacol didn't seem to help very much at all.  Anyway my question is do any of yall occasionally have a normal looking formed BM but still see some blood on the tissue paper??   I hadn't been experiencing any urgency or abdominal pain.  Just every now and then I'll have some blood (a decent amount) on the tissue.  I wander if thats hemrroids or what? confused    I do a good bit of weight lifting, so that makes me wander if its hemrroids from straining..  Do any of yall experience any occasional bleeding without being in a flare??  Thanks in advance for any responses, you all are very helpful! :-)                                             Josh

yep .. you have hemorrhoids ... they don't even necessarily have to hurt either. I didn't realize I had one until the doctor told me I had one after a colonoscopy.

Internal hemmies rarely hurt.
Status: Remission since late May 2009!
Symptoms began in November 2008, ~4 weeks after giving birth to my son.
Eased for ~3 weeks in December, possibly b/c of probiotic use?
Returned in January 2009 (with a vengeance), diagnosed with pancolitis on January 30.
Currently taking Asacol (400mg 4 pills 3x daily), Rowasa twice weekly, Culturelle probiotic, and Zoloft (25 mg).

Anal itching can be a symptom of hemmies..internal and external hemmies can hurt depending on how big they are or if there's more than one at a time and as you said, weight lifting can sometimes contribute to hemmies...I have had blood with formed BM's in the past...are you straining much when you have a BM?

Definitely wouldn't hurt to get things checked out especially if it's a new symptom for you.

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)

naa im definitely not straining much during a BM.  And its not a new symptom, I've been experiencing this occasionally off and on over the last couple years.  But don't really have true UC flare up symptoms, such as urgency and pain so on.   Every now and then I'll have some slightly mild pain and itching in the rectal area, but most of the time I have no symptoms just a normal BM with some blood on the tissue.
