Dear All,
I'm in a strange state of 'remission'. Although I don't have frequent BMs, even the slightest disturbance, emotional, stress or food, can set of bloating, sleeplessness and worst of all, terrible headaches. This happens nearly every other week. The headaches last 24-48 hours and the only thing I can take is Tylenol (paracetamol). I have had a CAT scan done, but there wasn't anything unusual. I'm not sure how to handle this. The frequency and the pain is giving me fits of depression. I'd be grateful for any advice or feedback.
Bewt wishes to you all.
Teacher.
PS I'm no longer on Rowasa (for almost 8 months) and only take Asacol 3x + vitamins + FloraQ the probiotic.
3x400mg Asacol, 3x daily
Rowasa enemas
Bee propolis
Flora-Q (probiotic)
Multi-Vitamins
Tylenol, 1000mg/headaches

I used to get extremely severe headaches/migraines every 2 weeks that would last for several hours too.

I'm not exactly sure how this worked, but once I started taking fiber supplements the headaches became less frequent and not as severe, and have now stopped. I think toxins were building up that then triggered the headaches, and the fiber supplements helped get those toxins out of the system.

Hope you're fine soon.

I'd say keep yourself well-hydrated to get rid of toxins, but also explore some relaxation techniques to relieve your excess tension, whether it's listening to music you enjoy, swimming laps, jogging, doing yoga, biking, etc. For bloating try lying on your stomach for 10-15 minutes, which will likely enable you to expel a whole lot of gas that can build up in the intestines when one feels worried or riled, especially. I've been thinking a lot lately about the need for relaxation because the continuing bad news about national economic issues (including health insurance reform) really irks me & I'm sure that it causes stress which can bring on headaches + aggravate GI problems. Good news, though, that your CAT scan turned out o.k.! / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])
